Review: Meant to Be Mine by becky Wade

About the book:

Meant to Be Mine by Becky Wade
A Porter Family Novel: Book 2
Bethany House

Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school--irresistible. When their paths cross again after college--still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia's ready to be Ty's wife, but Ty's not ready to be her husband. He's a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he's long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he's known since childhood.

Five and a half years pass. Celia's buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty's achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn't forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia's trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?

My review:

I was taking a step out of my literary comfort zone when I read Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade last year. Contemporary fiction isn’t usually my cup of tea but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was very excited to get my hands on Celia and Ty’s story. I absolutely LOVED this book and was not disappointed in the least!

Celia Park has loved Ty Porter since high school and after a whirlwind Vegas romance ends in an impromptu marriage she thinks her life is set. When she awakes the next morning to find Ty has changed his mind she finds things are quickly spinning out of control. Years later, when Ty tracks Celia down and discovers they have a daughter he begins to realize what he thought he wanted all these years is not even close.

Ty and Celia’s story is a heavy hitter in the emotional ring and I definitely had a few outbursts of blubbering. Although there are just as many happy moments to pick you back up again.

I’ve enjoyed relationships with some good verbal sparring ever since I met Beatrice and Benedick and Meant to Be Mine did not let me down. Celia and Ty can throw down with the best of them and they really had a great chemistry. I also liked the interesting/complicated family dynamic between them and their daughter.

I’m seriously looking forward to the third book in this series so I can get to know Jake Porter better. He is a guy with what appears to be a lot of issues to work though and I believe he will be a wonderful hero in his own right.
